Jon's Lambo

Professional freeskier and international playboy Jon Olsson can now add "laughing stock of the automotive media" to his list of accomplishments. Jon, known for an extravagant lifestyle that includes a house in Monaco and a runway model for a wife also has one hell of a Lamborghini.

When he first bought the car several years ago (see below) it was really badass. He covered it in arctic camouflage, installed studded snow tires and put a ski box on the roof. Then this past winter he stripped the studs and camo and went with an all black finish. Over the paint are black stickers for his new goggle company. And still bolted to the roof is his ski box.

Jon's Lambo - Original

The photos have since made their way to a site called "RicedExotics" which profiles tacky and poorly modified exotic cars, and from there the shots migrated to Gawker's car site Jalopnik. On both sites Jon is treated like some kind of automotive anti-Christ.

The bad press seems completely unnecessary. Turning a Lambo into a modern day batmobile is awesome, and should be every man's dream. Nearly all of the commenters on Jalopnik throw their support behind Jon with comments such as these:

1. "did you see the dirt on the Lambo???it's filthier than most HummersIt deserves the right to a cargo space"

2. "We should all aspire to be this guy. Enjoy your supercars, take them where they rarely go, let them stretch their pistons at every opportunity; rescue them from a life wasted in hermetically sealed garage majals and no-touchy concours pedestals."

3. "It's covered in road grime, it's being used as a 'regular' car, and it's had utility added...this is a win all-around!"

Here is Jon's account of originally purchasing the car "I walked in to Lamborghini in Monaco and bought it, was a little hard to get their attention when I first walked in, but when I asked if they could have it ready by lunch that changed (laughs)." Awesome.

And here's the man (and car) in action (fast forward to 3:16). Over and out.
