The Art of Phil Lumbang
by: denehy

the hundreds 1

The Hundreds just did a great feature on LA-based artist Phil Lumbang. He's been honing his skills as Shepard Fairey's art/design assistant for a few years, but has recently made a bigger name for himself tagging up the city with his Awesome Bears.

G Shock 1

Technology and entertainment joined forces on August 5, 2009 at Wall Street s classy dining staple Cipriani. The night was organized by Casio to celebrate the exceptional growth of their G Shock brand. A fresh red carpet lined with at least 15 staff members in fresh, white blazers led to a room with gaze-catching ice sculptures, an elaborate light show and hundreds of new watches on display.

B Unique 1

B.Unique is one of the freshest up and coming clothing brands you've probably never heard of. These guys are serious business. I've been following the company for a few years now and everything from their promo videos to hangtags reek of style. This year things are really poised to pop off with them, so it only seemed appropriate that we tell their story. Without further ado BNQT brings you a behind the scenes account of the rise of b.unique and co.

Casio G-Rescue

Casio G-RescuePhoto: CasioPhoto: Casio

Casio has done a great job growing the G Shock line without going overboard. Although they've done a number of collaborations in the last year they've also introduced new product and better technology. I recently attended their annual "Shock the World" party in New York and got to preview some of the newest models. One that really stood out was the new G7900 "G-Rescue."

Tilt Shift
by: denehy

A photographer named Nalden has been producing tilt-shift time lapse videos using a digital SLR. He recently shot this clip of Amsterdam for Nike Sportswear. The tilt shift technique, in the most simple terms, involves the use of a large aperture (to create a short depth of field) and a rotation of the lens (to bring all objects into sharp focus).

Whether or not you care how it works, the end result is stunning. Below is Nalden's Nike Sportswear clip.

This video of the French military parade in Paris was shot by Alta Media.

As with any emerging video/photo technique I can see tilt shift being used and abused by anyone with a digital SLR.
